ወደ ፊልጵስዩስ ሰዎች ፬፤፮ Philippians 4:6
“በነገር ሁሉ በጸሎትና በምልጃ ከምስጋና ጋር በእግዚአብሔር ዘንድ ልመናችሁን አስታውቁ እንጂ በአንዳች አትጨነቁ”
“In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God”
Prayer should have an important place in the lives of every Ethiopian Orthodox Christian. It is the telephone through which we are able to reach God with. As St. Tikhon of Zadonsk wrote;
“As a bird without wings, as a soldier without arms, so is a Christian without prayer”
God is spirit; and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24). Prayer is the lifting of our hearts and minds towards God, in thanksgiving, in supplication, in praise, glorification, etc. Without it we can’t connect with God and and we become just like the aforementioned (bird without wings…). Therefore, the first step to coming closer to God and speaking to him, listening to him is through prayer.
